Mundo Pixar Exhibition at Wembley Park

Mundo Pixar Exhibition at Wembley Park
Mundo Pixar Exhibition at Wembley Park | Exhibition review

When you first walk into the Mundo Pixar Exhibition at Wembley Park, you’re greeted with a tunnel filled with kaleidoscopic screens displaying snippets of the most beloved Pixar films. It’s a fitting prelude to the immersive experience of Mundo Pixar’s London venture.

Spread across 14 rooms, each meticulously capturing the whimsy and magic of Pixar, the exhibition is sure to delight Disney adults and kids alike. The attention to detail of each display is nothing short of remarkable. First, we’re led into the house from Up, its vibrant exterior complete with the iconic balloons atop the roof. In lieu of the costumed performers of Disneyland, attendees get to pose with replicas of Dug, Carl and Russell.

Following a fun Monsters Inc display, complete with a startlingly realistic Sully statue, the room seamlessly leads into Andy’s bedroom, the first of two Toy Story exhibits. It’s here where the exhibition really turns up the nostalgia. The familiar cloud-patterned walls, deeply saturated hues and Buzz and Woody replicas are certain to tug the heartstrings of millennial attendees who grew up with the iconic film. The proportions of the room give the impression of being one of Andy’s toys, again adding to the bittersweet ambience.

From there, there’s a mix of old and recent Pixar productions, including Coco, Finding Nemo, Inside Out and Cars. Though each new feature is preceded by written signage introducing the films, the transitions between each room might feel a little jarring to some attendees. The experience was evidently made with Instagram and TikTok in mind, and while the displays are spectacularly crafted, there’s a distinct lack of interactive opportunities (a clever easter egg hunt in the form of Pixar’s iconic yellow ball aside). While there’s no doubt that these rooms will make for fantastic photo opportunities, the experience is one of transience rather than of pausing to bask in the moment, though perhaps that’s a symptom of our Insta-ready culture.

Nonetheless, it’s an impressive feat. There’s also a concerted dedication to accessibility, with each room featuring braille signage and a QR code for subtitles. Additionally, the entire exhibition is on the ground floor, making it accessible for wheelchair users.

The Mundo Pixar exhibition is a visually dazzling parade of the studio’s finest works. Whether you’re a Pixar superfan or simply in need of some Instagrammable photo ops to brighten your feed, it’s pure magical escapism.
