Pret A Manger to give away free warm ciabattas at Soho pop-up this week

Pret A Manger is staging a two-day pop-up in Golden Square, Soho, on this Wednesday 23^rd and Thursday 24^th September, where London workers can pick up free samples of the chain’s new Warm Ciabattas between 12pm and 3pm.

Pret’s special Take a Hot Minute event will see the central London square fitted out with seating and a live guitarist, with the aim of encouraging office workers to leave their desks and take a full lunch break, rather than eating while working. Visitors will be able to try three new products from the range: The Warm Chicken Caesar Bacon Ciabatta (made with chicken and bacon in a Caesar dressing, topped with Grevé, Italian hard cheese and spring onion), the Warm Beef Birria and Jalapeño Ciabatta (beef birria with a black bean mole and cream cheese, topped with peppers, spring onion and jalapeños) and the Warm Three Cheese and Tomato Ciabatta (cheddar, mozzarella and Italian-style cheese on red tapenade, topped with roasted tomatoes and basil).

The samples are free to anyone who turns up during the three-hour window on either day, and no booking is required. Golden Square sits just off Beak Street in Soho, a short walk from Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Circus underground stations, and is surrounded by offices in the media and advertising district – the perfect audience for the chain’s campaign.

Matt Bresnahan, chief marketing officer, noted: “We know lunchtime can often feel rushed, with many workers eating at their desks or skipping their lunch break completely. Our new Warm Ciabattas are made for those moments when you want something warm and satisfying – and we wanted to give Londoners a reason to stop, put their ‘OOO’ on and take a hot minute to enjoy their lunch properly.”

The warm ciabattas are part of Pret’s wider move into hot food, with the group expanding its offer in recent years to complement its traditional cold sandwiches, salads and wraps, all of which are made in shop kitchens each day. The range is now available in Pret shops, of which there are more than 750 worldwide.
