Team Me – With My Hands Covering Both of My Eyes I Am Too Scared to Have a Look at You Now | Single review

With My Hands Covering Both of My Eyes I Am Too Scared to Have a Look at You Now is the latest single from Norwegian multi-instrumentalist collective Team Me.  It’s catchy and bouncing, but has an undercurrent of folk-flavoured calmness; it’s a full blend of soaring peaks and uplifting melodies. As the track builds into the chorus, the vocals soar effortlessly above the synth-laden instrumental. It oozes glory with its Arcade Fire-like chanting choruses. A peculiar nostalgic ache lingers over this track: Team Me rattle off one anthemic chorus after another and it packs a punch with its off-beat rhythm.

A typically Scandinavian work of glacial beauty? No – this is a fully realised work of intellect and warmth.
