Iconic Taiwanese restaurant Din Tai Fung launches Chinese New Year menu

Taiwanese hotspot Din Tai Fung is launching a limited-edition menu in celebration of Chinese New Year, now available across its three London branches. The acclaimed Asian restaurant group is offering the chance to see in the Year of the Rabbit in style.

Ranked as one of the world’s best restaurants by The New York Times, Din Tai Fung’s roots date back to Taiwan more than 60 years ago. The arrival of the brand in the UK in 2018 made waves in the local dining scene, and they have since built a huge following with their famous signature Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao and other traditional dishes. To date, the Taiwanese restaurant has branches in Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, the UAE and the USA.

This Chinese New Year sees the brand launch a special tasting menu, which carries a price tag of £60 per person and includes fan favourites such as the Xiao Long Bao and Salted Egg Yolk Custard Lava Buns, as well as a number of special dishes, among them a delicious Prawn and Egg Fried Rice with XO Sauce, a warming Tom Yum Xiao Long Bao, a Classic Steamed Black Cod and tasty vegan No-Crab Cakes. All three dishes, as well as the tasting menu, will be available until 5th February 2023.

The ultimate Din Tai Fung experience is available for groups of between six and ten diners. For those looking for a refined yet bustling vibe for their Chinese New Year celebrations, the Covent Garden venue is the perfect choice. The brand’s flagship London location immortalises the meeting of East and West, creating a cultural sanctuary nestled in the heart of the city’s theatre and entertainment hub, perfect for celebrating Chinese traditions with friends and family.

For those who prefer to dine in glamorous surroundings reminiscent of the swinging 60s, Din Tai Fung Centre Point will be the go-to this Chinese New Year. The brand’s latest addition takes inspiration from the decade when Centre Point was built and combines it with traditional Asian touches to create a unique vibe. The new branch is also home to a world-first separate bar area, perfect for enjoying an after-dinner cocktail or two and raising a glass to a prosperous year.

Meanwhile, Din Tai Fung Selfridges is a great pitstop after a day of trawling the January sales. Shoppers can take a break and get into the spirit of Chinese New Year with a unique dining experience in this sleek and modern space, and soon see their energy levels return!
