Apple TV+ unveils trailer for Loot season two starring Maya Rudolph, sets premiere for April

Apple TV+ has just unveiled the eagerly anticipated trailer for the second season of its hit workplace comedy, Loot, starring the multi-Emmy Award winner Maya Rudolph. The show, which also features performances by Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Nat Faxon, Ron Funches and Joel Kim Booster, is set to make its global premiere on 3rd April 2024. Created and executive produced by Emmy Award winners Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, Loot promises to deliver another season filled with laughter, drama and heartwarming moments.

The new trailer teases the introduction of new guest stars, including Benjamin Bratt, Ana Gasteyer and O-T Fagbenle, alongside the return of the beloved ensemble cast. As the series resumes, viewers will catch up with Molly Wells (played by Rudolph), a year after her high-profile divorce from tech billionaire John Novak (Adam Scott). Now fully immersed in her role at the helm of her philanthropic organisation, the Wells Foundation, Molly is taking a break from romantic entanglements to focus on her charity work and a personal wellness journey. Despite her achievements, Molly remains humorously dependent on her diligent assistant Nicholas (Booster), who loyally navigates her through both her professional and personal life.

Meanwhile, the Wells Foundation continues to thrive under the stringent yet compassionate direction of Sofia Salinas (Rodriguez), whose professional demeanor is tested by the arrival of Molly’s charming architect friend, Isaac (Fagbenle). The season also explores the evolving friendship between Howard (Funches) and Nicholas, as well as Arthur’s (Faxon) attempts to move on from his feelings for Molly, symbolised by his adoption of a “very lame leather bracelet”.

Loot season two embarks on a journey of self-discovery, friendship and the pursuit of happiness against the backdrop of immense wealth and philanthropy. The series not only aims to deliver laughs but also touch on themes of personal growth and the power of giving.

Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard’s creation continues to be a testament to their storytelling prowess, with Maya Rudolph not only leading in front of the camera but also serving as an executive producer alongside Danielle Renfrew Behrens, Dave Becky of 3 Arts and Natasha Lyonne.
