Shake Shack introduces Al Pastor menu

Shake Shack introduces Al Pastor menu

Continuing the series of high-end collaborations, Shake Shack introduces its Al Pastor Menu on 13th March, for a limited period only. The new offering will be accessible in all UK branches of the popular American fast-food chain, as well as through Deliveroo.

The Al Pastor Menu is inspired by the traditional Mexican cuisine, particularly Tacos Al Pastor, and features a selection of items designed to deliver a smoky heat and spicy bites. The menu includes the Al Pastor Burger, a chilli cheddar cheeseburger topped with pineapple, onion, and chipotle mayo; the Al Pastor Chicken, a crispy chicken breast also accompanied by pineapple, onion, and chipotle mayo; and Chipotle Cheese Fries, crinkle-cut fries loaded with chipotle cheese sauce, cherry peppers, and spring onions.

Peter Kayaian, Culinary & Product Development Manager at Shake Shack, shared the inspiration behind the new menu. “Our guests continue to crave exciting new variations of spicy burgers, so we sought to create our Al Pastor menu to showcase flavours taken from Mexican cuisine, specifically tacos, to deliver a smoky heat,” he explains. The menu is crafted using core ingredients of the traditional Al Pastor marinade, including whole dried guajillo and ancho chilies, resulting in a sauce that offers a subtle heat, smokiness, and a savoury flavour profile. “Like the tacos we fell in love with in Mexico City, we’ve added a few slices of raw onion and fresh, sweet pineapple to contrast against and cut through the richness of the sandwich. The result is the ultimate sweet and smoky combination.”

Shake Shack serves elevated versions of American classics, including its delicious made-to-order Angus beef burgers and crispy chicken. Since the original Shack opened in 2004 in New York City Madison Square Park, the Company has expanded to over 430 locations systemwide, including over 140 international locations across London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Mexico City, Istanbul, Dubai, Tokyo, Seoul and more.

The Al Pastor Menu will be available at Shake Shack locations across the UK from 13th March to 30th May.
