Kentish Town’s Café Mama & Sons offers free coffee for UK Coffee Week with special code

On Friday 17th October, Café Mama & Sons in Kentish Town will offer a free coffee to customers who purchase any pastry, sando or sweet treat – but only if they know the code word “MAMA”. The giveaway is part of UK Coffee Week, which runs from 13th to 19th October, celebrating the nation’s coffee culture while supporting communities growing the essential beans through charitable initiatives.

Located on Kentish Town Road, the Café Mama bakery specialises in a fusion of traditional Filipino flavours with contemporary café fare. All baked goods are prepared fresh daily, and the coffee is sourced from London-based supplier Catalyst Roasters. On the big day, customers can receive a complimentary cup – hot or iced – between 8am and 5pm, provided they make a qualifying purchase and use the code.

The café’s menu includes a variety of savoury and sweet options. Sandos – Japanese-style sandwiches – feature fillings such as corned beef, adobo mushroom and jerk chicken. On the sweet side, the bakery offers treats like the Ube Mochi Bow Croissant (“filled with chewy, purple ube mochi”), Fresh Matcha CookiesEnsaymada (a Filipino brioche topped with cheese and sugar), Milo Chocolate Tiramisu and Banana Pudding inspired by New York’s Magnolia Bakery.

Café Mama and Sons’ unique menu and family vibe set them apart from the plethora of London bakeries and cafés. They sum themselves up saying, “If you like sandos , coffee, ice-cream and a good time you cannot skip a visit”.
