Fadi Kattan’s contemporary Palestinian restaurant Akub, nestled in the charming streets of Notting Hill, is set to launch a unique series of supper clubs. These events will see collaborations with cherished independent suppliers from Palestine, aiming to blend gastronomy with charity. A significant portion of the proceeds, 30% from the ticket sales, will be donated to Medical Aid Palestine, Anera and Amos Trust, in a bid to provide essential support amidst the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The inaugural supper club, taking place on Monday 11th March, will feature a partnership with Zaytoun, a supplier of ethically sourced Palestinian fine foods, and a firm favourite of Kattan, known for its commitment to fair trade and support of local farmers.

The supper clubs will showcase the vibrant flavours and culinary traditions of Palestine, deeply influenced by the chef’s upbringing. Diners can expect to be greeted with signature cocktails, including the Jallab Royale or Fadi’s Lemonade, before being treated to a specially curated set menu. Highlights include Freshly Baked Zaatar Breads accompanied by an array of dips, traditional Mousakhan made with Zaytoun’s fair trade Palestinian olive oil, and for dessert, a choice between Dead Sea Salt Chocolate Cake with Tahinia Ice-Cream or a selection of ice-creams flavoured with za’atar, pistachio and lemon.

Following the kick-off night, the supper club series will continue to feature collaborations with other notable Palestinian talents, including third-generation ceramicist Nur Minawi and wine producer Ashkar Winery, further enriching the experience with cultural and artisanal elements.

This initiative not only offers an opportunity to savour authentic Palestinian cuisine but also to contribute to a vital cause, supporting the people of Gaza through the challenging times they face.
