Jerez de la Frontera to welcome year-long international gastronomy event El Duende X in 2026

A new culinary event, El Duende X, is going to take place throughout 2026 in Jerez de la Frontera, located in the province of Cadiz, Andalusia. Created by Dolce Nilda and Juanlu Fernández (maître d’ and head chef, respectively, at Lú Restaurant), El Duende X aims to bring together prominent figures from the national and international gastronomic community over the course of the year.

Fernández, co-creator of the event, has garnered attention for his work at Lú within Spain’s fine dining scene; meanwhile, Nilda (his partner) is heading up the project alongside him. Together, they aim to create an environment that encourages innovation and dialogue in the food sector. While specific dates and a full list of participants have not yet been disclosed, so far organisers have shared that it will include a series of activities designed to foster collaboration and exchange. A variety of formats are expected, including workshops, panel discussions and live demonstrations.

Jerez de la Frontera, the host city, is recognised for its culinary heritage and as the centre of sherry wine production in Andalusia. The choice of location is expected to highlight the region’s contribution to Spanish and global gastronomy, gathering “some of the most inspiring figures from the national and international gastronomic scene”.
