Sound Bites festival to debut in London with live music, celebrity chefs and charity support for Children with Cancer UK
A new food and music festival, Sound Bites, will launch at The Clementine in Syon Park on 8th and 9th May. Organised by the team behind Taste Festivals and Big Feastival, the two-day festival aims to combine live music performances with curated food experiences – and even better, it will support Children with Cancer UK by donating at least £10 from every ticket to the charity. Following the London debut, there will be events in Tunbridge Wells, Reigate and St Albans over the summer, with further programming to be announced.
The London show will feature headline sets from Kaiser Chief’s Ricky Wilson presents The Fabulous Adjustable Band, The Hoosiers and a Faithless DJ set with Sister Bliss. Additional performers, including Gary Stringer (Reef), Natasha Hamilton (Atomic Kitten) and Simon Fowler (Ocean Colour Scene), are also scheduled to appear, with further acts expected to be confirmed in the coming months.
Food is a central focus, with a variety of experiences planned. The Classics Feasts, led by chef Atul Kochhar, will offer British pub favourites alongside classic Indian dishes, served with a backdrop of live music from tribute acts and party bands. At The Firepit Stage, Big Nath’s BBQ will showcase live fire cooking and ember-roasted dishes. Meanwhile, BrewDog and Ginger Wings will partner for the Big Wing Weekend, pairing craft beers with award-winning chicken wings perfected by Jack Blumenthal.
Curated by Sofar Sounds, the intimate Speakeasy will provide a space for emerging artists and surprise guest performances. The festival will also feature The Heroes Stage, developed in partnership with Children with Cancer UK, where children affected by cancer will interview celebrity guests from various fields, among them Paula Radcliffe.
Chris Hughes, co-founder of Sound Bites, said: “Syon Park is an incredible venue to kick off our new era of food and music parties, and to be supporting a fantastic charity like Children with Cancer UK is extra special. Sound Bites builds on everything we’ve achieved creating some of the UK’s biggest food and music events but will offer new ways to party and new ways to explore great tastes with friends and family.”
Gavin Maggs, chief executive of Children with Cancer UK, also commented: “Being the first charitable partner of the Sound Bites festival shows our commitment to finding new ways to connect with supporters and unite more people behind our mission to help children with cancer. The funds raised through the festival will support families and young people facing the challenges of childhood cancer and fuel the research that drives more effective, safer treatments. We look forward to festival goers coming together at Syon Park to make a real difference for children and young people across the UK.”
Tickets are currently on sale, with prices starting at £55 for standard adult sessions and £25 for children. Additional experiences, such as The Classics Feasts and Firepit Feasts, can be booked separately. Full details are available on the festival’s website.
