Courtyard Wine Cellars launch season of festive live music and wine tastings in Covent Garden

Courtyard Wine Cellars, located beneath the historic arches of Covent Garden Market, is hosting a seasonal series of live music events. The programme, which runs from November and throughout December, features a variety of themed performances ranging from Cockney sing-alongs to jazz-infused Christmas classics. The events combine live entertainment with tastings in one of the capital’s largest wine bar and cellar venues.

The series’s opening act, Carradine’s Cockney Sing-a-long, sold out on Sunday. Led by pianist and entertainer Tom Carradine, who is known for reviving the tradition of the East End knees-up, the evening featured a repertoire of Music Hall standards, wartime favourites and musical theatre hits.

Next on the bill is Cabernet & Crooners, which will take place across multiple dates starring vocalist Ciro, dubbed The Italian Soul Man. Ciro’s performance includes a mix of funk, soul, R&B and pop, paired with selections from the Great American Songbook, offering guests the option to either sing along or relax and enjoy the music, wine in hand.

On 21st November and 5th December, there’s Jazz Christmas Classics, showcasing the talent of Australian performer Phoebe Panaretos. The artist has a stage pedigree that includes Dream Lover, American Idiot and a recent appearance at New York’s Apollo Theatre, and she was selected by Baz Luhrmann for the lead role in Strictly Ballroom: The Musical.

Further Christmas-themed events include performances by Alex Given on 28th November and 12th December, and Elliot Gooch on 29th November. Given, whose credits span West End and Australian productions, will perform acoustic renditions of holiday favourites; meanwhile, talented dancer and stage actor Gooch brings a jazz-inspired approach to the seasonal repertoire.

Courtyard Wine Cellars boasts over 1,000 wines from 100 regions across 10 countries, presented in seven vaulted rooms with food pairings alongside the selection. Tickets for all events start at £5.
