Ambassadors Clubhouse launches Punjabi-inspired lunch and pre-theatre set menu in Mayfair

Ambassadors Clubhouse in Mayfair has introduced a new Lunch & Pre-Theatre set menu, which will be available daily from noon to 6pm until March. Diners can select one, two or three courses, priced at £21, £29 and £35 respectively, for an accessible way to experience Punjabi cuisine during the winter months.

The restaurant, part of the JKS Restaurants group (who are also behind the two-Michelin-starred Gymkhana) draws inspiration from the food, drink and music culture of Punjab. The new selection is influenced by the roadside stalls and markets of cities such as Ludhiana, Patiala and Lahore, aiming to bring the flavours of Northern India to central London.

The new menu is available to groups of up to five diners – for parties of six or more, there’s a Group Set Lunch menu for £35 per person with three courses. Among the dishes presented to patrons ordering lunch or pre-theatre dinner are Arbi Tokri Chaat, which the restaurant describes as rooted in Punjabi roadside chaat culture, and Warqi Mutton Seekh Kebab, inspired by kebabs found in Amritsar’s bazaars. Other additions include Chicken Burrah and Chicken Keema Pilau, both drawing from Lahore’s griddle-cooked market fare. Also on offer are signature items such as Haryali Rabbit Keema Cheela and desserts including Gulab Jamun. Optional drinks include carafes of wine and non-alcoholic choices such as Mango Lassi and Mandarin Khus Sharbat, the latter made with mandarin, vetiver, basil seeds and soda.

The culinary style is informed by the heritage of the Sethi family (who own the restaurant group). They say the menu “celebrates the cuisine of undivided Punjab through a mix of classic and lesser-known dishes, from expertly spiced chaats and tandoori masala lamb chops to rich curries and signature biryani”.
