A new pizzeria blending Italian culinary techniques with traditional British ingredients is opening in Peckham, south London, later this month. Connie’s Pizza, UK’s first Bri-talian pizza concept, will begin serving customers beneath the arches of Queen’s Road, Peckham, from Monday, 26th January 2026. The restaurant is the creation of Naples-born chef Andrea Asciuti, founder of 081 Pizzeria, which was named among the Top 50 Pizzas in Europe in 2024.

Connie’s Pizza aims to introduce London-style pizza made by Italians, featuring a light, crispy, and non-floppy base. The menu will focus on classic and seasonal British ingredients, such as leeks, onions, mushrooms, aubergines, chicken, and pork, combined with Italian methods and long-fermented dough. The dough is made with American flour, has a high hydration content, and is fermented for 36 to 48 hours before being baked at 370°C. The result is a crisp and airy base designed to complement both Italian and British flavours.

The menu will consist of eight pizzas, with options including Tomato and Aubergine Pie, a classic Margherita using British mozzarella, and an nduja pizza featuring British stracciatella. Other offerings include Sautéed Mushrooms with Truffle and Basil. Prices for pizzas will start at £9.95. The restaurant will also serve side dishes such as meatballs, deep-fried macaroni and cheese, and mozzarella sticks. For dessert, customers can order Fiocco di Neve, a mini brioche filled with ricotta and whipped cream.

The pizzeria is named after Asciuti’s wife, Connie, and inspired by their daughter Lili, a true Bri-talian growing up between Italian cooking and London culture. Asciuti said, “While London’s pizza scene has exploded with new styles, many pizzas are overcooked, under-crafted and lacking the technique required to deliver true crispiness, flavour balance and character. Connie’s aims to change that – and to be the place to enjoy a proper London pizza cooked to perfection, in cosy and charming settings.”
