Pancake Day at Christopher’s in Covent Garden: Limited edition decadent delights and all the classics

American restaurant Christopher’s, in Covent Garden, has announced a special menu to mark Pancake Day, which will be available from Monday 16th to Friday 20th February. The eatery, which specialises in Stateside-inspired food, is offering a range of sweet and savoury pancakes, drawing on some of its most popular dishes.

Pancake Day is part of the Christian Shrove Tuesday festival, which falls on 17th February this year, when families traditionally celebrate with the making and eating of pancakes before the start of Lent. The limited-time menu at Christopher’s is available for both lunch and dinner service during the specified week.

The selection is described as being inspired by some of Christopher’s signature dishes, such as Chocolate French Toast and the best-selling Apple Crumble. According to the team, this year’s pancakes offer both traditional and innovative takes on the favourites. The temporary menu features four special versions. Among the sweet options is the Chocolate Lovers Stack, described as chocolate chip pancakes topped with chocolate mousse, vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate sauce. Another sweet offering, the Crumbly Stack, consists of blueberry swirl pancakes layered with caramelised apple butter, crumble and vanilla custard cream. For those seeking a lighter variation, the Matcha Soft Serve Pancakes are made with ricotta soufflé pancakes, served with matcha soft scoop ice cream and oven-glazed raspberries. And finally, on the savoury side, Christopher’s is serving Truffle Pancakes, which combine king oyster mushroom and sweetcorn pancakes with truffle, whipped Parmesan cream and sweet potato crisps; diners also have the option to add blackened shrimp.

To accompany the pancake menu, the team have introduced two drinks: the Biscoff Martini is available for those seeking an alcoholic option, while the No-spresso Martini offers a non-alcoholic alternative, described as “an espresso-based treat with cream, vanilla in a cacao-rimmed glass.”

Bookings are encouraged as the restaurant expects significant demand in the West End location.
