Marylebone bakery and brunch venue Boxcar Bread & Wine has partnered with Japanese matcha brand KOMA for a limited-time collaboration running throughout December 2025. The initiative introduces two seasonal matcha-based drinks, available exclusively at Boxcar Bread & Wine from 1st to 31st December, aiming to showcase authentic Japanese matcha sourced from Uji, Kyoto.

The collaboration features two specially developed beverages. The first, the KOMA Yuki, is a warm drink combining KOMA’s organic matcha with white chocolate and nutmeg, topped with a handcrafted meringue stick. The second, named Matcha Dream, is a cold, floral option made with matcha, jasmine tea infusion, rose water, lemon juice and soda, garnished with dried rose petals and lemon balm. Both drinks can be customised with optional additions such as an extra shot of matcha or Irish cream liqueur for the KOMA Yuki, and gin for the Matcha Dream.

The partnership is an opportunity to experience the earthy richness and delicate umami of matcha in new forms. The matcha used in the drinks is 100% organic and sourced from Uji, a region in Kyoto known for its 270-year history of tea cultivation. KOMA, the Japanese brand behind the matcha, is recognised for its emphasis on purity and craftsmanship, drawing from traditional tea-making techniques.

In addition to the drinks menu, Boxcar Bread & Wine will also be offering a curated selection of matcha-themed Christmas gifts in-store. Items include KOMA matcha sets and traditional Japanese whisks, presented in seasonal packaging inspired by Japanese festive wrapping.

Boxcar Bread & Wine is part of the Boxcar Group, an independent collection of eateries and bakeries in London focused on seasonal ingredients and community engagement. KOMA, meanwhile, is a premium Japanese brand that sources its matcha directly from Kyoto, aiming to bridge traditional tea culture with contemporary design and lifestyle.
