The Trafalgar, first new pub in a century to open on King’s Road, offers festive Christmas menu

The Trafalgar, a newly opened public house for the first time in over a century on King’s Road in Chelsea, is offering a festive three-course Christmas menu starting at £48 per person. The venue is operated by Three Cheers Pub Co., a hospitality group founded by childhood friends Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox.
The Trafalgar officially opened its doors on 22nd October following a £2.4 million refurbishment. Housed in a Grade II listed Georgian building that formerly served as a bank, the pub is part of Cadogan’s Gaumont development project. It is situated directly opposite Chelsea Town Hall, occupying a prominent position on one of London’s most historic streets.
The Christmas menu includes traditional fare with seasonal twists. Starters feature Irish Oxtail and Black Truffle Croquettes and Wimbledon Smokehouse Salmon. Mains range from Timothy Taylor Braised Beef Short Rib to Grove Smith Turkey with all the trimmings. Desserts include Sticky Toffee Pudding with vanilla ice cream and a Baby Guinness Cake with Baileys mascarpone. A 25% discount is available on the set menu during weekday lunch hours from 12 pm to 4 pm.
The pub’s design blends traditional and modern elements. The main bar area, named Old Banking Hall, retains architectural features such as five-metre-high bronze ceilings, Flemish chandeliers, and original plasterwork. The interior also includes oxblood leather banquettes, solid oak barrels, and vintage artwork. Adjacent to the main hall is a 45-seat dining room with burgundy walls, bespoke tapestries, and velvet lighting fixtures.
The menu focuses on British classics, among which are the Suffolk Wagyu Cheeseburger, Poached Guinea Fowl, and Orkney Scallops. Sunday roasts and weekend brunch are also served, with options such as ale-braised beef Thor’s Hammer designed for sharing.
The drinks list comprises a range of wines, craft beers such as Jubel and Brixton Lager, and cocktails including Old Fashioneds and Elderflower Martinis.
