Mam Sham supper club returns with charity comedy-dining event in East London
Mam Sham, the London-based supper club that blends food with live comedy, will return on Friday 27th February 2026 with a charity event at Lock Warehouse in Cambridge Heath. The evening will feature a three-course meal crafted by a team of notable chefs, stand-up performances from comedians and an after-party hosted by musician Goya Gumbani. All proceeds will be donated to Praxis, a UK charity supporting migrants and refugees.
Maria Georgiou and Rhiannon Butler, the childhood friends behind Mam Sham, will be hosting their first event since 2024. The supper club has built a reputation for its narrative-led dining experiences, where each dish is designed in response to comic acts. For this one, starters will be prepared by Chris Leach, chef and co-founder of Manteca, known for his nose-to-tail approach to cooking. The main course will be a collaboration between award-winning food writer and chef Melissa Thompson, recognised for her BBQ dishes, and Melek Erdal, chef and author focused on the culinary traditions of North and East London’s immigrant communities. Dessert will be provided by Sam Wong of Lil’ Wong Bakes, whose bakehouse specialises in flavours inspired by East and South East Asian desserts.
Comedy will be interspersed between courses, with performances from Kae Kurd, who has appeared on television shows such as (Live at the Apollo and Mock the Week) the sketch duo Britney, and Jin Hao Li, whose debut show Swimming in a Submarine was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2024 Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
Following the dinner, the venue will transform for an after-party curated by Goya Gumbani, a Brooklyn-born, South London-based rapper and DJ. Running from 10pm to 1am, the party will feature live music acts including multidisciplinary artist Demae. Supper club ticket holders will have automatic access, while separate tickets will be available for £7.
Mam Sham has organised similar events since 2017, often donating profits to charities addressing issues such as youth homelessness and period poverty. According to the organisers, “bringing the performance to the plate” has been their guiding principle, with each occasion involving close collaboration between chefs and comedians to create a cohesive narrative experience.
Tickets for the supper club, priced at £60, will be availble to book from 12.30pm on 30th January. Both supper club and after-party events are for guests aged 18 and over.
